Space

Step out onto your private lanai on the 41st floor and take in a sweeping panorama that stretches from the sparkling Pacific to the commanding silhouette of Diamond Head – with the glittering Waikiki skyline filling the space between. This east-facing studio at Island Colony puts one of the world’s most iconic coastal views right outside your window, from the moment you wake up to the last light of the evening.


The studio

– The open-plan layout keeps everything within easy reach.

– A queen-size bed sits at the heart of the space, dressed in fresh cotton linens with extra pillows and blankets in the closet.

– Room-darkening shades let you sleep in if the mood strikes.

– An adjustable-height table with two chairs doubles as a dining spot or a place to work, and a flat-screen TV rounds out the living area.

– A window AC unit and a split AC keep the space cool and comfortable throughout your stay.


Kitchenette

– The kitchenette is well set up for in-unit meals.

– You’ll find a 2-burner stovetop, microwave, full-size refrigerator with freezer, and a range of small appliances including a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and hot water kettle.

– Cookware, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and utensils are all provided, along with a baking sheet and cooking basics.

– A starter supply kit is included on arrival – stocked with coffee, coffee filters, salt and pepper, dish soap, laundry detergent, and personal care essentials to get you settled in.


Bathroom

– The bathroom includes a tub and shower, vanity with cabinet, and a hair dryer.

– Essentiel Elements shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and shower gel are provided, along with a full set of towels – bath towel, hand towel, washcloth, and beach towel – per guest.


Lanai

– Step outside to your private balcony, furnished with a table and two chairs – a natural spot for morning coffee with that Diamond Head view stretched out in front of you.


Beach essentials

– Head to the beach with everything you need already packed: two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a beach cooler, and a beach mat are all provided for your use.


Connectivity & practicalities

– Fast Wi-Fi is included (244 Mbps, verified by speed test – strong enough for 4K streaming and video calls).

– An ethernet connection is also available. Self check-in is via keypad.

– Paid parking is available in the on-premises garage at $45 per day (subject to change).

– The building also has an elevator, trash chutes on every floor, a ground-floor coffee shop, round-the-clock security, and an ATM in the lobby.


Getting around

Car, scooter, and bicycle rentals are available right in the building and across the street. The Honolulu Airport is approximately 20 minutes away by car.

Parking:
This building has a public parking garage ($35 per 24 hours), payable directly at the parking garage. Rates are subject to change. If the vehicle stays longer than 24 hours without paying for additional time, a $50 fine will apply.

Neighborly Conduct. You will be staying in a privately owned property that has neighbors. Please ensure that you act in a neighborly and courteous manner towards your neighbors. Please keep noise to a minimum before 8:00 am and after 10:00 pm. Violation of this rule may result in a fine Please treat the property, its furniture, fittings, utensils, and other facilities with all due care and respect. Please treat the property and the neighbors with the respect you would want others to treat yours.

No pets, no smoking (even on the balcony/lanai). $250 minimum fee if you smoke in the unit during your stay.

Only people listed on the AirBnB listing are allowed in the unit without prior permission. If you have more people in the unit without permission than on your reservation, there is a $100 per person extra charge. No parties or events are allowed in the unit or at the pool/BBQ area. The minimum fine for unauthorized events will be $500 + condo association fine for cleanup. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed to use building amenities.

Furnishings. Furniture, bedding, mattress pads, kitchen equipment, utensils, or any other property supplied with the rental property must not be moved. Loss of these items, as well as damage to the property or furnishings over normal wear, will be charged to you. All contents of the home are the property of the owner. If something should break, you must notify Midway before check-out so that a replacement can be made. Guests are not permitted to alter the wiring of the television.

Recreation Deck. The recreation deck, except for the swimming pool, is open at all times, on condition that no noise or activity on the recreation deck disturbs any resident. The Association does not assume any responsibility for persons using any facilities on the recreation deck. Use of any of the facilities on the recreation deck shall be at the occupant’s and guest’s sole risk. While there are no specific age restrictions upon children’s use of the various facilities on the recreation deck, parents and/or their guardians must adequately and safely supervise their children whenever their children are present on the recreation deck. Smoking is not permitted on any part of the recreation deck that is not a Board Designated smoking area.

Barbecues. Subject to availability, occupants may cook on the recreation deck from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm using the installed cooking facilities. Reservations are not necessary but may be made with Security if desired.

Containers. No containers of glass or other breakable material are allowed on the recreation deck.

Swimming Pool.
A. The pool and the surrounding areas are for the exclusive use of occupants and guests. Hours of operation are between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
B. There is no lifeguard on duty. Occupants and guests use the pool at their own risk.
C. Hair pins and similar items must be removed before entering the pool.
D. Glass or other breakable containers must not be brought into the pool area.
E. No large flotation devices, such as air mattresses or inner tubes, may be brought into the pool. U. S. Coast Guard-approved or otherwise attachable small personal flotation devices only may be used.
F. “Horseplay,” running, screaming, throwing, or tossing any objects, or other loud or boisterous behavior is not permitted in the pool area.
G. Swimmers must wear proper swimming attire.
H. Diving or jumping into the pool is not permitted.
I. No one in a dripping wet bathing suit shall enter the elevators or other common areas of the
building from the pool.
J. Board of Health regulations, particularly Section 61, Personal Regulations (excerpted below), will be strictly observed:
1. “All persons known to be or suspected of being afflicted with infectious disease,
suffering from a cough, cold or wearing Band‐Aids or bandages shall be excluded from bathing in the swimming pool.”
2. “Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose in the swimming pool are strictly
prohibited.”
K. Special toddler diapers shall be used to prevent contamination of the pool.
7.9. SPA. All of the rules outlined in Section 8 above (Swimming Pool) shall also apply to the use of the spa, except that no flotation devices of any kind shall be permitted in the spa.
No person may use the spa without proper supervision if the use of the spa would pose a risk to the person’s health, safety, and/or welfare without such supervision.
Occupants and guests are expected to utilize reasonable judgment in deciding whether the use of the spa is suitable for themselves and/or those under their supervision. Elderly persons, pregnant women, infants, persons on medication, and those with health conditions requiring medical care including diabetes, heart disease, and high or low blood pressure should consult with a physician before using the spa to understand thoroughly any risks involved.
Caution should be taken to keep hair and body parts away from drain outlets and other mechanical equipment in the spa.

Please don’t forget to switch off the air conditioning BEFORE YOU LEAVE the unit for a few hours and at departure.

Any violation of the house rules can be fined by the Building Management and will be transferred to the guest.

INDEMNITY. GUEST SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, RELEASE, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE RENTAL PROPERTY OWNER, MANAGER, THE AOAO, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE MEMBERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, AND REPRESENTATIVES (“RELEASED PARTIES”), FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, LIABILITIES, SUITS, DAMAGES, COSTS, LOSSES, OR EXPENSES OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING ALL ATTORNEYS’ FEES AND LEGAL EXPENSES, INCURRED BY ANY OR ALL OF THEM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT, YOUR RENTAL, OR USE OF ANY AMENITIES, COMMON AREAS, POOLS, HOT TUBS, SPAS, SAUNAS, BALCONIES, CONTENTS, BODY BOARDS, BEACH CHAIRS, SNORKELS, OR ANY OTHER ACCESSORIES.

LIMITATION ON LIABILITY. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND NO LEGAL THEORY, TORT, CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL THE RENTAL PROPERTY OWNER, MANAGER, THE AOAO, OR ANY OTHER RELEASED PARTIES BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY DAMAGE, THEFT, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER INCLUDING ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR YOUR RENTAL. IN NO EVENT WILL THE RENTAL PROPERTY OWNER, MANAGER, THE AOAO, OR ANY OTHER RELEASED PARTIES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OVER THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF MANAGER, THE RENTAL PROPERTY OWNER OR ANY OTHER RELEASED PARTIES SHALL HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

The highlight of this room was definitely the view it was amazing. I also appreciated the large fridge and how clean everything was. The room does feel a bit outdated, but it’s very well maintained. The bed was comfortable and made for a good night’s sleep.
The only downside was the A/C unit being located in the lower corner of the room it took quite a while to cool the space. It did eventually work, but coming from out of town and not being used to the humidity, good air conditioning was pretty important to me. That said, it was manageable overall, and I would still stay here again.
