After both elevators in our first Honolulu rental condo stopped
After both elevators in our first Honolulu rental condo stopped working, I contacted Midway late on a Sunday afternoon to see if this unit was still available. We were desperate to move and responded quickly. Less than a hour after first contact, our move for a six night stay was confirmed for the next day.
The unit is as pictured, including the great view to Diamond Head. Security guard minded parking was easy, and ALL four elevators worked perfectly, every time…
The unit is a long block back from the Waikiki’s main strip (Kalakua Ave) and does not have the crowded side walks of the beach front area. The Kuhio Street neighborhood still has portions that still holds the early 60’s feel of small shops and eating places. Yet a few blocks away you can shop at high end stores if you are so inclined….in a word: perfect.
The unit was not only clean and with full size appliances, but came stocked with everything we needed to move right in; trash bags, dish soap, etc. Full size ironing board, fold-up drying rack for wet clothes, beach chairs, and plenty of bath and beach towels.
The east facing lanai has two chairs and table and is shaded in the afternoon….a plus in Hawai’i. The single AC unit cools the entire space, and is quite enough to sleep with, but the height of the unit allows the trade wind to slip in the windows. The area is quiet enough to sleep with the windows open at night if you prefer (as we did).
Pool and hot tubs are conveniently located right out of the elevator, with plenty of chairs and lounging space. A small enclosed playground adjoins.
Would re-book in a heart beat.
