Our first Airbnb stay was a complete success! The experience was similar to having a vacation condo without financial liability. We did our dishes, laundry, vacuuming, and the trash just like our vacation home. The Waikiki Banyan was close to the beach and restaurants. The unit was tightly maintained as advertised. The week we booked turned out to be under the building’s annual pool and sauna maintenance, otherwise, they would’ve been a bonus. Yes, there were times you had to wait for elevators and parking due to the rush of people in and out of the building. If you have a low tolerance for waiting, you may want to avoid peak hours. Although, you just don’t know when the peak hour would be. The host, The Midway Vacations maintained constant correspondence via email and text to keep you informed of your stay. Since we did not run into any major inconvenience issues, we can not confirm their responsiveness, but they even have an office in the building for possible easy contact/access. Overall, we miss the convenience of five-star hotels’ room services and valet parking, but we certainly would book this unit again for our next trip to Honolulu.
