This is a gorgeous place and a relaxing retreat with a view! Normally on a vacation, I would feel guilty staying in and not spending time outdoors. The view is hypnotizing and is very much a part of the vacation experience and not just a place to sleep. Not only is it beautiful, it had very well thought out touches such as a small ceiling fan facing the induction stove top burners, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, elevating bed, kitchen with your needed basics for cooking, lots of drawers to put away your things so it actually feels like you live there rather than out of a suitcase. The big winner for my husband was the shower. Not only does it have great water pressure and an opening window, the shower head is tall enough for his 6’3” height. We have had experiences in the past where my husband had a terrible time showering in other places because the shower head was too low even for 5’5” me! I’m glad they kept this in mind when remodeling the condo. The location is very walkable with restaurants in walking distance for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and dinner. There are a few mini Marts just a 5 minute walk to gather your basics at reasonable prices and a coffee shop in Tower 1. FYI, because this is more on the east side of Waikiki, the immediate beach is a little rockier but that can be remedied with a short walk west along the beach where the sand becomes finer. The condo is pretty quiet at night besides the normal noise of a sleeping city. Occasionally, we would hear people racing their cars at night but being a commercial area, I’m assuming it’s people who rented a sports car wanting to get their money’s worth. The main shopping areas are about a 10-15 minute walk. My husband and I love to walk everywhere and loved this location. I would say the surrounding area is less commercial than further west but this was a winning point. We are not necessarily young. We are middle aged and try to be active. For us, it was perfect.
