We couldn’t have been more comfortable and happy staying in

We couldn’t have been more comfortable and happy staying in this wonderful condo. We were not sure if the photos were true – such a wonderful view, but they absolutely were. Diamond Head is right there, majestic and big as life, every morning.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a light on and fresh, cool air from the AC. Easy to use, and rarely needed once we opened the lanai door. Looking down, you can see the pool and hot tubs, playground and barbecue areas.
The bed was inviting and very comfortable – just the right amount of firmness we preferred, with ample pillows. The closet was well stocked with everything we could have needed from hangars to clothes drying rack.
The towels were thick and lovely, but would suggest you bring a few of your own unless you want to do a lot of laundry. Which would be easy to do since the laundry room was just next door (no quarters needed, there’s an app to pay). So convenient. Same with the trash chute (free, lol). So quiet, though, we didn’t even notice them when they were in use by the neighbors.
The galley kitchen was perfect – even had another view of the beach through its window. We appreciated the rice cooker and the electric water kettle very much. We made breakfast each day and one dinner to help keep costs down (Safeway is close by car up Kapahulu); but had we wanted, so many places to eat and shop were only steps away. The first night, we even used Door Dash to order up some local food.
Really appreciated the in-room electronic concierge which greeted us and helped with check-in/out, a link to contact our host (which we didn’t need) and offered travel tips during our stay.
Parking was easy to use and very appreciated. The security guards in the parking structure were very helpful and very friendly. No safety worries about our rental.
Please know that Waikiki is a very urban and busy neighborhood. There’s lots of people on the move constantly and lots of police activity on the streets below. You will hear it if you leave the lanai door and windows open. It’s very lively, which we like.
From the room, you can see DH, the ocean, Honolulu Zoo two blocks away, the park and the band shell. Mid-morning, for an additional touch of exotica you can hear the gibbons in the zoo calling out. Because we were there over Mother’s Day, the Royal Hawaiian Band was performing in the afternoon. Also some of the entertainment from the other hotels – either lightshows or movies displayed on the buildings or music or fireworks on special holidays at night.
All in all, a perfect place to call home. We truly didn’t want to leave.
Mahalo nui loa to our host and to AirBnB!
